(Fast Boot causes all sorts of problems, you can Google it).ĥ- Disable hibernation: open an elevated command prompt with "run as administrator" and enter the command "powercfg.exe /hibernate off"Ħ- IMPORTANT: in Device Manager, under "Universal Serial Bus controllers", right click on "USB Root Hub (USB 3.0)", under the "Power Management" tab, uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Don't skip this step.ģ- Install "Realtek USB Audio Driver V.2307" from ASUS website. Turn off power supply (or unplug it) for at least one full minute. The ALC4080 chip is physically installed as a USB Audio device to "USB Root Hub (USB 3.0)" device. My specs: ASUS Z690-E Motherboard with ALC4080 chip, CPU 12900K, G.Skill DDR5-6000-C元6Audio out: 5.1 PCM But meanwhile, the steps below at least made my new PC useable. I really HOPE that ASUS continues to work and fix these problems. Here are the steps that I took which eliminated MOST but not all of the problems. I've seen a lot of people complain about sound problems (lagging, static, noise, pops, etc.) on their new ASUS Z690-xx based builds with Realtek ALC4080/ALC4082 audio chip, especially with Windows 11 for some reason. ![]()
